Seeking a post-Acropolis lunch spot, we happened by the Athens campus of Webster University.

It’s more than 30 years since I finished my MBA at Webster. I started in Albuquerque and finished at the main campus near St. Louis. Of course, internet based learning wasn’t really a thing back then, and I knew that I needed more structure than I would have gotten from a correspondence program.

If I remember correctly, the classes met once a week, 4 hours at a shot, for 9 or 10 weeks. You could take one or two subjects at a time.

Because I hadn’t had any of those subjects before (econ, accounting, finance, etc) I learned a lot… it didn’t feel like it would have been much of a progression from a BBA, but since it was all new to me I got a lot out of it.

One of my case study exercises was positing that film cameras would be replaced by digital cameras soonish, and therefore that Kodak needed to dramatically change its business model while it still could. I got that one basically right… they filed for bankruptcy in 2012.
