That’s Lee’s home for much of last week… a HomeExchange property in Rotterdam, where her Peace Corps friend Liz came to visit while I was at a conference…

… on a cruise ship! That’s the SS Rotterdam, the height of luxury in 1959, now permanently docked and serving as a hotel and conference center.

Both accommodations were very nice.

That’s Lee’s back garden, complete with a decorative cat. The only downside was that the staircase was so steep that Lee ended up dragging some bedding downstairs and sleeping on the floor. But it wasn’t too bad.

And that’s my enormous room. One of my conference colleagues alerted me that the extra cost for an upgrade was minimal, so I scored big time.
