Tl;dr — We won!

Left to right Jay, Thierry, Lynnette and me at Stanley Bay Pétanque Club after winning the inaugural Super 4s tournament.

This was a fun format involving 12 teams of four playing gender doubles and mixed doubles.

As a team we went undefeated in qualifying and squeaked out a win in the two-game final round (won one and lost one, but the win was bigger than the loss).

There’s a too-long story about me missing a game-winning shot in the final… so I won’t tell it. But all this pétanque has given me great new appreciation for golfers, who face this kind of challenge every weekend… knocking in an easy shot for them might mean a million bucks or losing their Tour card, and that pressure means suddenly it ain’t no easy shot.
