In the midst of all the old photos Lee is sorting through, she found a bundle of letters that she’d sent from her Peace Corps service in Liberia to her mom in Texas. Lee’s mom saved them and they came back to us after she died.
Lee contacted the nearby North Shore Philatelic Society and asked if they’d be interested in the stamps on the envelopes. Yes, indeed! The President and Secretary (who are also husband and wife) drove out to receive the donation and we had a nice chat with them.
The stamps will now go into an auction, and the proceeds will benefit the society.
