One of Lee’s birthday presents was an outing to Auckland’s new IKEA. Actually it’s been open for months but we weren’t interested in the big crowds.

It was fun, but we were somewhat underwhelmed. We absolutely loved furnishing houses in Connecticut and Vermont from IKEA, but since we didn’t really need anything at the moment it was less exciting. We said hello to Billy bookcases and Malm dressers and other old friends.
And although I certainly did eat my compulsory meatballs, I did enjoy them as much as I remembered.

We did buy this nice Råskog metal trolley for me to wash and sort metal detecting finds, and we picked the pale pink because why not!
We’re thinking about pimping out the garage, and that may be just the excuse we need to go shop for real.
