Abandoned bikes

Anywhere there’s a bike rack, there’s some number of abandoned bikes. Sometimes they’ve been pillaged, seats and wheels removed. This one is in Skala, on the island of Patmos, Greece, and I bet it’s still there… it looks like it wasn’t locked and might just stay there until it rusts away completely. The plastic bits will last centuries, but the steel will be gone in another 20 years or so, I guess.

Personally, I think the authorities should be much more aggressive about removing these derelicts, but I suppose they have bigger fish to fry.
