We were in Christchurch this weekend for me to play in the Pétanque NZ National Triples Championships. We got in Thursday night and had Friday to do a little sightseeing.
The pétanque club is inside the magnificent Hagley Park, one of the largest city parks in the world. Very beautiful. Exquisitely maintained.
Above is the Peacock Fountain. I struggled with the contrasting light, it was more colorful in person.

This person insisted on coming along while the dog took his stick for a jog.

The Avon River, including punts, runs through the park.

Oversized trees. The wonderful Botanic Garden is in the park.

The rose garden.
What a lovely thing to have as your local park!!
