Hot stuff

That’s our new best friend… a Ninja Foodi grill gadget.

It roasts, grills / sautés, and air fries (whatever that exactly means).

When not in use, it hunkers calmly, sitting on the friendliness scale somewhere between Darth Vader and a pink iMac. The internal fan is pretty noisy when it’s on, but it’s living up to its promise of containing the smoke and cooking odors.

So far, we’ve made a whole roasted chicken, sautéed various meats and vegetables, air-fried sweet potatoes as fries and wedges, and even made stuffed portobellos. It’s been really fast and everything has come out great.

We don’t love either the cooktop or oven that came with this house. They weren’t the greatest quality even when new, and they’re not new (although to be fair we replaced both items in the old house, spent a lot, and didn’t really love them either). So, at least for now, the new gizmo is just right for many of our needs… fingers crossed it keeps going as well over extended use.
