
We hit the two biggest light streets in the neighborhood on Christmas Eve.
First was Bridal Place. It wasn’t really dark yet, so we didn’t necessarily get the best of the show, but it was still pretty good.

One thing I had never seen before: whole families wandering around in matching Christmas pyjamas. Ok…
Then it was on to Vista Motu (which means Island view in the sort of multi language mashup that some subdivision developers just can’t resist). The displays there were bigger and brighter. It’s a more established neighborhood.



Neither street was as over the top as Ponsonby’s Franklin Road or some Stateside Christmas Streets we’ve seen. Nonetheless, lots of people put in real effort and invited us all to take a look… civil society is still alive and well, I’m relieved to report.
