Christchurch’s downtown has been completely transformed since the damaging earthquakes in 2011 and 2012.

The individual new buildings don’t stand out much… except for any number of vibrant paint colours and huge murals. Overall, I’d say haste mattered more than design. But they’ve arranged everything nicely. It feels open and airy. And vibrant… lots of people on the streets.

My eye was drawn to some of the older features, like the clock tower above and the statues below.
