Pittsburgh buildings

I don’t spend all my time looking down for manhole covers… there’s plenty more to see when you look up.

Pittsburgh has lots of cool architecture… or maybe I should say I noticed a lot of architectural details and also a few whole buildings.

Here’s the Ukrainian Home, a building that hasn’t yet seen the gentrification that’s creeping toward it.

This one is all about the plaque near the top… “Destroyed by fire and rebuilt AD 1915“.

More great cast concrete moldings.

Old and new.

That skyscraper won awards for its sensitivity to the local environment. But to me, it’s the modern offices of some evil fantasy character: Sauron, or the White Witch, or Voldemort.
