We stopped for lunch in Te Kuiti on our recent pétanque road trip. It’s got a pretty nice main drag. Here we are hamming it up with the statue of Sir Colin Meads, which has pride of place right in front of the train station.

Lunch was better than expected in a busy little bakery / cafe. And we found me a thrift store rain jacket to replace the one I lost at some pétanque tournament last year.

On the way out of town, we were lucky to catch this waterfall while the orange coneflower was blooming.
