Now that I’ve rebranded as AssortedHistory.com, my eye is drawn to all things “assorted.”
So here you go. Assorted jackets.
As a young man I sold menswear in a preppy Pasadena shop. We had some godawful sport coats and ties left over from the 70s. The same expensive quality we always sold, but colors and styles that hadn’t aged well. Wide and plaid are words that come to mind.
Sometimes the boss would put a “spiff” on those items… like an extra $20 or a free lunch to whoever sold one. This little white number with its hip blue piping woulda been a great candidate, although we never would have had anything so cheap in the first place. And although I was almost never that smooth, the old pros woulda found a buyer by the end of the day… they could sell icemakers to polar explorers.
